昨日、シンガポールや香港では、CNAの『Insight』という番組で、日本の国政をテーマにしたエピソードが放送されたことかと思います。ウェブにアップされるのは数日後、わたしもとても気になっています。
わたしが関わる番組は英語での放送のためなかなか日本の人からの反応がないのですが、今回は、日本の人に届け届けと願いながら作りました。だって、今の日本の投票率は半数行くかどうかというところ。国民の半数が棄権をしているという状況、民主主義としておかしくないでしょうか。残念ながら、日本で見られる頃には衆院選は終わっています。投票率はきっと高くないだろうと思いながらも、一縷の望みをかけ、なんとか投票に行く人よ多くなれと願う日々です。
There was an episode of CNA Insight about Japan's elections aired yesterday. It will take a few days to be posted online. I am anticipating to watch it.
The shows I make are all in English so I hardly have feedback from Japanese people. Yet, I was hoping to make it wishing this to reach them somehow. Our voting rate is barely 50%, meaning half of us abandon a right to vote. We have a democracy and what is it? Unfortunately by the time we can watch the story from Japan the election is over. I am pretty sure the voting rate will not be high again but with a gleam of hope, please please there will be more people to vote.
