Eating Disorder

I had an opportunity to talk to women with eating disorder for a radio show production as part of work. We got to hear about how they became suffering from eating disorder or how they battled it with the support of a group of people helping them overcome the disorder. We talked to single women to mothers with children.

What's most impressive was that they had suffered for a very long time. They would eat so much at a time and vomit afterwords, or they couldn't eat at all by themselves because eating was a scary thing for them so they would need to go to the facility to eat lunch with others. You wouldn't be able to tell they have eating disorder, but they all suffered and hoped to overcome it.

Many of them developed it when they reached puberty. They were sensitive about how others looked at them and wanted to just lose weight without thinking about the importance of nutrition. And that unreasonable dieting could lead them to develop an eating disorder, I thought.

You are what you eat. You cannot continue eating without proper nutritions. I reckon how important it is for me to teach proper nutrition knowledge.
