最近は周りでSpotifyプレミアムを使う人が増えてきました。音楽ストリーミングサービスです。２年ほど前に日本に入ってきた時、サブスクリプション（定額制）が主流な欧米と違い、そもそも音楽をダウンロードすることに抵抗のある日本（これはレーベルがそうしたくないという感じですけど）、インターネットで音楽は無料で聞きやすい環境の今、月に1000円近く払って、さあ、音楽を聞くのだろうか？と思っていたのですが、自分の周りで入っているという声を聞くようになり、ああ、浸透してきたなと思いました。
自分の好みを自動分析してくれるおすすめがかなりいいのがプレミアムに入っている理由というのも聞きました。わたしもオフラインで聞きたいので、加入しています。
ちなみに先日アメリカ人とイギリス人のクルーが当然のように「日本の音楽のおすすめある？」「YMOがいいよ、Spotify見せて、入れてあげる」というものでした。おそらく加入率は日本よりもずっと高いんでしょうね。
There are some people around me saying they use Spotify. When they came to Japan about two years ago, I wondered if it'd be popular in Japan where we still have a higher CD sales and have some difficulties for downloading music (probably record labels still don't like it) while subscription is more popular in the West. We also have free music online so I wondered how many people her were going to pay to listen to music. But recently I think it's getting popular since I personally hear people around me they have a premium membership.
Some say the reason's is Spotify's great recommendation for them to listen to new music. I have a premium membership because I want to listen offline.
I had one American and one British crew members talking: "Do you have any recommendation for Japanese music?" "Yellow Magic Orchestra is great. Let me see your Spotify, I'll put it for you." I guess the percentage of people with Spotify subscription in those countries should be much higher than Japan.
