島に来ました。プラウマカン（タイガーアイランド）という島で、ジャカルタ市内から船で２時間。 この島は、週末は島にある宿泊施設に泊まる人しか滞在しないというところです。遠浅の海が本当にきれいで、海の深さにより色がグラデーションとなっています。美しいです。いろんな魚が泳いでいて、懐っこいのが多いです。
幸いにも、ということでしょうね、ちょうどwifiが落ちていて、わたしは携帯を使えませんでした。こういう何もない、美しい島にいるのに携帯を触っている人の多いこと。本を読む人はわたし以外にはもう一人だけ。ほんの10年前までは、スマートフォンがなかった時代。その時は、携帯がなくても人は過ごしていたのに。自戒を込めて、目の前に素晴らしい自然が広がる時は、五感を使ってそれを楽しまなければと思いました。
友人と一緒に島で時間を過ごし、どういう人生をどういうところで過ごしたいかという話ができたのが有意義でした。
We came to the island called Pulau Macan (Tiger Island). Two hours away from the city of Jakarta. This is an island where those staying at the only accommodation on the island are allowed to stay on the weekends. The shallow ocean has a gradation of colors depending on the depth and is so beautiful. There are a dozen of different kinds of fish too and many are friendly.
I think this was fortunate for me that they are out of wifi so I couldn’t use my cell phone. Staying on the island with nothing but nature, there were so many people having their phone in hand staring at the screen. We didn’t have smart phones only 10 years ago, right? I’m writing this to myself too, but when there is the mother nature in front of us, I thought we should fully enjoy it with all the sense we have.
I talked to my friend about how we want to spend our rest of the lives in what kind of place. It was meaningful.
