制作業が忙しく、今年の頭から、知り合いのテレビ制作者に、部分的に手伝ってもらえないかと打診し始めました。
多くの仲間はレギュラーの番組を持っているので、副業の仕事時間を捻出できるかどうかですね。レギュラーで忙しい子は１月に３時間くらいですが、それでもずいぶん助かります。
彼女たちは日本の制作業でやってきているので、私よりずっと日本の企業や個人がテレビ撮影をする際のことをよくわかっています。
数日前にもお手伝いをお願いした仲間も、ベテランの制作者。日本のテレビの時はこういう流れ、ととっても詳しく教えてくれて助かります。私はマニュアルも何もない中、海外の番組を個人で代表して交渉していくので、時にはずれていることもあるでしょう。当時は日本のテレビで翻訳者として働いていた私。彼女たちは仕事で向かう先のアシスタントディレクターさん、ディレクターさん、プロデューサーさんだったりと立場は違いましたが、私が日本のテレビで仕事をしなくなった今でもやりとりができること、本当にありがたく思います。感謝！
I started asking around if anyone could help me for making shows since I've gotten really busy.
Many of them have a regular show to produce, so it's up for them to generate some extra time for me. If someone is busy enough with her regular work, she can only work for a few hours a month for me, but it's still helpful.
They have worked in production industry in Japan, so they know more about public relations of Japanese companies and individuals.
A friend of mine I asked to help had also worked in the Japanese TV industry for a long time. She tells me how filming goes among Japanese TV networks. I don't have any manual to follow to represent a foreign show alone, so there can be things I do not follow conventional ways. I worked as a translator for Japanese shows at the time while they were assistant directors, directors, or producers. I am very grateful I can keep in touch with them when I no longer work for Japanese TV. Thank you so much!
