シンプルな食事/ Simple Food

Everyone is getting tired of thinking about what to eat. If you live in Japan, and haven't tried tofu from an individual tofu shop, I strongly recommend you to buy one once since it may enlighten you.

You can get either momen (firm) or kinugoshi (smooth) tofu. Put it on a plate for 10 minutes so that there is water coming out that you can throw. If you don't eat right away, put tofu in a bowl with water covering tofu completely and keep it in the fridge. This way, it can last for a few days. When eating, put some shiso, coriander, sesame oil, seven-spice shichimi, nori seaweed, sesame seeds, and soy sauce or dashi shoyu (soy sauce with broth). Ponzu works too. If you have a few slices of sashimi, that can work as a great treat. I like kimchi with it too. Cucumbers or tomatoes are great with it. It's so simple but very satisfying. One block of tofu costs only around 160 yen or so. Great nutritious food with high proteins!
