人は失敗するもの。失敗してもいいので、次に同じようなことが起きた時にどうするか。それを考えるのが大事ということは、思考改革の中で随分と教わりました。
今回の撮影では、コロナ禍で本国からのスタッフが誰も日本に来られなかったので、撮影した素材を送るという作業が日本側のスタッフに課せられました。我が家のwifiは高速ではなく、わたしではなくひかり回線を持つカメラマンが毎日素材を発注元のスタッフに送ってくれることになったのですが、カメラマンの撮影したものは随分と高品質で、本国側のシステムはローレゾリューションしか対応できないため、本国スタッフが毎回ローレゾに変換してから編集を行うという作業が発生し、そこをなんとかして欲しかったという要望を受けました。
コロナの影響がまだ１、２年は続くだろうと見ているので、これはわたしが対処しなければならない事案として、今、どんな環境づくりが必要かを考えています。まず我が家のwifiを光回線にすること。それは必要でしょう。なぜなら、今の環境では30秒の素材を送るのに30分以上かかっていたからです。そしてカメラマンの素材を変換するのに何が必要か。今回のカメラマンはREDというカメラを使用し、RED専用のカードリーダーが必要になります。それを撮影中ずっと貸してもらえるのか、ということも明確にしなければなりません。今、カメラマンにフォーマット変換が簡単にできるのか、撮影がある場合はカードリーダーを貸してもらえるのかを問い合わせています。
今の環境に迅速に対応していく必要がありますね。次回までには環境を整えます！

There were no staff entering Japan under the pandemic so it was the Japan crew's role to send footage filmed every day. Since the wifi in our home isn't fast enough, it was the DP's job to send the footage to the production every day. But what he filmed was too high a resolution and they needed to convert into a lower format, and there was a request they wished they hadn't had to do it on their own.
I feel the pandemic impact will continue for another year or two, so it's a potential issue I need to address. The first thing would be for me to get a fiber wifi connection since our home wifi is too slow to send big files for TV shows like taking more than 30 minutes to send a 30-second video clip. And I would need to figure out what I need to convert the format from his RED camera to lower resolution footage. He says you need a card reader only specifically working for RED, so I would need to get an RED card reader. I need to know if he would let me have his RED card reader during filming. I have asked the DP if it's easy to convert formats and would be willing to let me use his card reader.
