今のところ、地球上の人口は増え続けています。国連機関によると、2021年の人口は80億人近く。人類は活動地域をどんどん広げ、森林を伐採し、汚染を続け「繁栄」してきました。
その結果、温暖化を引き起こし、異常気象が続き、災害により亡くなる人は増えてきています。核兵器も一時期よりは減ったといえ、未だ待機中の数は1万個近くということ。わたしたちは目先の繁栄を見て、結局いずれ自滅するしかないのだろうと思われて仕方ありません。
このような時代に子どもを産むことは、単に「子どもを育てたい」という自分の願望を叶えるだけで利己的ではないのかと思う気持ちもありました。結局は生き物の営みで行われている「種を残す」という欲望に従ったというわけですが……。
だからこそ、未来を担う子どもたちにとってなんとかいい環境を残したいと思うわけです。
去年、日本で、水道の民営化が許可できるように改正がされました。水という自然の恵みを利益のために民間事業が運営することで、土地のように扱われていく可能性があります。以前も書いた記憶がありますが、わたしはどうしても土地を売買するということに違和感を抱いています。この星で、生きるために一時的に借りているだけの場所に値段をつけ、儲ける人が存在する。そうしなければ土地争いが起きることも理解していますが、それでもどうしても違和感を抱きます。
さて、わたしたちは繁栄しているのか衰退に向かっているのか。これは長い歴史で振り返った時にわかることでしょう。わたしは、驕る人類に怒る自然から、いつの日かしっぺ返しを受ける日が来るだろうと感じています。
The numbers of population on the planet have been increasing so far. The United Nation's institution says the number in 2021 is nearly 8 billion. Human beings have expanded areas of activity areas, cut trees, contaminated the environment to "prosper."
As a result, we have the climate change and unprecedented weathers. People die. There are nearly 10 thousands of nuclear weapons on the earth excluding the ones to be demolished. I cannot stop thinking humans will destroy ourselves by only seeking immediate property.
I had struggle that my desire to raise a child might be only selfish in this age. We after all followed our instinct to stick to "spices preservation"...
That's why I'd like to leave the best environment as possible to the future generations.
Last year, Japan amended the law for water privatization. Water is a gift from the nature and if water is sold and bought like lands, what impacts could we have? I think I wrote this before, but I just don't understand why we sell and buy lands. We only borrow a land of this planet to live for some time. Why is money involved? I know there would be conflicts otherwise but I just understand it.
Are we prospering or declining? That will be only known when humans look back in a long history. I feel we will pay the for our arrogant deeds sometime.
