Japan Subtropicalizing

I received the apples this year too. The seasonal first apples are from "Ringoya" in Nagano.

He puts a newsletter in the box about how harvest goes, or pesticide in a bigger frame. This time, he writes how summers in Japan have changed as if we have a monsoon after dry season. I feel this is a tip of what's happening when we are going through global warming.

Apples are from the West, and they grow in colder areas in Japan such as Nagano or Aomori. The farmer needed to pick the apples earlier than full ripen timing due to the weather change.

He wrote this in the email earlier. But rather small apples tasted well with adequate sourness. We are grateful we can eat them this year too. In the midst of global warming, he wonders if the time might come that he will no longer be able to produce apples with less pesticide. I will be sad if we cannot eat safer produce. As an individual, I can only support farmers in person by ordering them directly as well as acting ecological.
