街にはクリスマスツリーが飾られクリスマスソングが聞こえ、いよいよクリスマスが近づいてきましたね。クリスマスは日本では今でも恋人たちの盛り上がるイベントのようですが、この時期、厳しい境遇にいる人たちに思いを馳せ、行動する時期でもあります。
夫は、ホームレスの方々のために活動しているグループに、物品の贈り物をしました。彼は学生時代、食費１日500円で過ごした時期があり、その時代と比べると今は十分な暮らしをしている感謝の気持ちがあり、寄付をしています。わたしも今年は人道支援の団体に寄付をしました。
今の自分の状況に感謝する余裕がある場合、他の人への行動を起こす時期、それがクリスマスの本当の意味だと思います。

My husband donated to the group some products. He had some time that he could use only 500 yen per day on food. Comparing to the time, he has enough now and that's one reason he donates. I donated to the humanitarian aid group this year.
If you have some room to thank for where you are, Christmas/ Hanukkah is the time to act for others.
