先日、カフェで隣の席にいた２人の関係性は、おばあちゃんと孫のようでした。高校生で進路のことを話すお孫さん。話を聞くおばあちゃん。珍しくない光景かもしれませんが、おばあちゃんの相槌が、お孫さんをサポートし、上手に本人のやる気を促す感じがなんだかいいなと思いました。
自分の子どもと違い、孫は落ち着いて関係性を築けると言いますよね。冷静な立場で話ができると聞きます。まだまだ子育て真っ最中のわたしですが、いつか孫ができたとしたら、ああいう会話ができるようになるでしょうか？
There was a grandmother sitting next to me in the cafe, whose apparently granddaughter was chatting about which university she'd like to go. It may not be an uncommon thing to see, but how the grandma talks to her encourages her independency and was supportive. Really nice.
Unlike your own child, I hear you can watch and face your grandchild calmly. You are more cool with them. My own children are still young that I need to take care of them, but one day when I have a grandchild, I wonder if I will talk to him/her that calm. Hope so.
