先日住まいの話し合いの場で、議論の難しさに直面しました。あるテーマのことを話し合う時に、固い話し合いの場でどんどん意見が言える人と時間をかけてじっくり考えることに長けている人がいるならば、会議の場では前者が圧倒的に有利です。しかしその内容を後で考察した場合、整合性が取られておらず、いかに自分にとって都合の良い論点にすり替わっているのかがわかります。
頭の回転が速く瞬発的に意見が言えるということは、必ずしも内容の深さと辻褄が合うことを述べるというわけではないのだと感じた次第です。
When I had a housing meeting with the other neighbors, I faced the challenge of discussion. When you talk about something, if there are people who can instantly come up with opinions and who rather need more time to contemplate, the former have a way big advantage in a meeting where you need to decide in that spot. In the hindsight, the discussions made by those who are good at talking could have a lack of consistency but because of the fluency of speech, we don't see it.
This is making me realize how smart you are to say something instantly doesn't mean the depth or it makes a total sense.
