一緒に二度、仕事をしたことのあるイギリス在住の記者から連絡があり、彼女の二人目のお子さんの写真が添付されていました。
最後に仕事をしたのが、ちょうど「不妊治療」をテーマにしたときで、彼女自身の度重なる流産という事実もあり、その辛い話を記事にしたり、他の国の事情を聞くという取材でした。その取材中、今二人目をみごもっているという話をしてくれたことは記憶にありますが、その後どうなったのかなと時に気にかけていたので、お子さんの誕生を伺いとても嬉しかったです。
そのことを、日本で取材させていただいたお相手にも伝え、みんなの幸せの連鎖を繋ぐことができました。
大変な時代に生きる子どもたちですが、どうか誰もが平和に暮らせるようにと願います。
The journalist I worked with twice contacted me with photos of her second baby.
It was about pregnancy losses that we worked on. She herself had experiences of losses and worte her experiences. She talked to women in different countries for the story. As we worked, she told me she was pregnant with her second baby and I had wondered sometimes so I was really glad to hear the baby is healthy growing.
I passed the information onto the woman we interviewed. It's really nice to learn this kind of happy news.
I hope the children in this hard time will peacefully live. That's all I hope for.
